Breaking The Cycle Of Negative Thoughts

How do we cancel the negative narrative in our head when it seems automatic? It's not like you're trying to be negative... it just happens. The human brain generates thousands of thoughts every day. However, a significant portion of these thoughts tend to be negative, especially for individuals struggling with life's many challenges.

These automatic negative thoughts (ANTs) stem from negative experiences and traumas that are stored in our memories, shaping our overall thought patterns. The result is often chronic stress, low mood, and conditions such as depression and anxiety.

The good news is that you don't have to be stuck with these negative thoughts forever. The first step is recognizing and acknowledging the presence of ANTs. It's important to understand that these thoughts come from the subconscious and do not define who you are as a person.

Once you recognize them, the next step is to challenge them through methods like coaching or therapy, journaling, and meditation.
